Home Depot Team Paints Olive Wood Child Development Center

Family Service Association would like to thank TEAM DEPOT, The Home Depot's associate-led volunteer team, for providing manpower to paint our Olivewood Child Development Center this summer! In addition, The Home Depot Foundation generously donated over $2,000 for the painting and garden supplies.

"l cannot say enough good things about Team Captain Sherron Sanford," said Kathy Knox, Volunteer

Services Program Manager. "Sherron was great! She helped us with The Home Depot Foundation grant, assisted with preparations, and assembled the 50+ employee team from the Perris area Direct Fulfillment Center." The volunteers painted the 5,000+ square feet building and perimeter fence and spruced up the children's garden area. Lacy Hughes, Director of Olivewood Child Development, and some FSA staff also came to prep and paint.

"Children, families and staff were very happy with the outcome of the work that Home Depot employee volunteers did to make the building look new," said Lacy Hughes. Olivewood CDC provides an enriching

program for 100 families with children ranging from infancy to pre-school.

"The associates at the Perris facility are proud residents of Perris and the Inland Empire. It was our pleasure to help an institution that does so much for our community," said John Abrantes, General Manager. "The Home Depot is more than a retailer. The Home Depot is part of our community."

"We are one team with one dream: To serve our community by giving back," said Sherron Sanford, Inbound Area Supervisor and Team Captain for the project.

It's a big job to coordinate 12 Child Development Centers, four Community/Senior Centers, Housing for seniors and low income families at three locations, the Mobile Fresh program distributing fresh produce, the HOPE Collaborative preventing child abuse and neglect, and 28 locations where we serve healthy meals to seniors ... FSA sincerely appreciates the help of Team Depot and the Home Depot Foundation!
