Family Service Association (FSA) was honored to join the County of Riverside, First 5 Riverside County, the Riverside County Office of Education, the Office of Riverside County District 2 Supervisor Karen Spiegel, and community partners to celebrate the ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the new Lakeland Village Child Care Center.

The celebration marked an important milestone in Riverside County’s continued investment in Lakeland Village and its families. Community leaders, partners, and residents gathered to tour the new facility and recognize the collaboration that brought this much-needed resource to the community.

Access to safe, high-quality child care is essential for both children and their families. It gives young children the opportunity to learn and grow in nurturing environments while helping parents and caregivers work, continue their education, and provide for their families. By bringing early learning opportunities closer to home, the new center will help create a strong foundation for children’s long-term success and strengthen the community as a whole.

“I am the proud product of subsidized child care, so I understand personally how impactful early education can be to a child’s long-term success,” said Dr. Cheryl-Marie Hansberger, CEO of Family Service Association. “We are honored to serve the infants, toddlers, and families who will benefit from this beautiful new center.”

Once licensing is complete, the Lakeland Village Child Care Center will provide high-quality early education and care for up to 48 infants and toddlers. The center will become FSA’s 11th Child Development Center and build upon our longstanding commitment to supporting children and families throughout Riverside County.

The new center is part of a broader effort to expand resources and opportunities for Lakeland Village residents. Over the past several months, FSA has developed strong relationships within the community while introducing food distributions, pet adoption events, an emerging community garden, and other activities at the neighboring Lakeland Village Community Center. We are proud to work alongside the many organizations serving this growing community.

Their shared commitment has created a resource that will benefit Lakeland Village children and families for generations to come.

As FSA prepares to open the classrooms, our Child Development team is working diligently to complete the licensing process and welcome children as soon as possible. The Lakeland Village Child Care Center is currently enrolling children and hiring dedicated educators and support staff.
